ERPLY’s Point Of Sale (POS) solution is what the company refers to as a cloud-hybrid system. This means that you have a local installation where the software is run at your business location.  However, all the data retrieval takes place within the cloud. This means that your information can be accessed from any location with a connection but you still need to have the software in order to operate the Point Of Sale (POS) system. The benefit of this setup is that you’re able to operate both on and offline.

Apart from the native features provided with this cloud-hybrid system there are a number of 3rd party integrations that includes:

ERPLY offers a list of compatible hardware you can use with their system including payment devices, printers, cash drawers, customer displays, scales, and scanners. The company does claim they are hardware agnostic, meaning you can use the software with virtually any other hardware. Still they provide some minimum requirements for hardware:

  • 1 GHZ or higher processor
  • 1 GB Ram
  • 3 GB of free hard drive space
  • 1024x768 screen resolution


ERPLY features diverse reporting to help you stay on top of your business. You can pull sales reports for any customizable date range to view hot selling items, sales by product, sales by day, or by customer. That means access to real-time and historic reports.

The system also provides comparison reports to do side by side comparisons by date range or location (for multisite operations). This type of reporting lets you see your slowest times to help you with marketing and promotions in order to improve revenue and operations.

The full suite of customer, merchandise, and operational metrics is a must-have for any retailer and a great addition to a POS system.

Ease of Use

The initial setup is relatively easy and support personnel are on hand to make your transition as simple as possible. The actual setup of the system takes a little time but this is inherent to the concept of this type of POS software. Given that everything in your business will be interconnected it’s going to take a little time to get the system configured to how you do business.

Once you have it configured the interface is intuitive and fairly straight forward. It won’t take long for you to master the inventory, storage, sales, invoicing, purchasing mechanics, and general operational features. The clean design and surprising speed of the software makes daily operation easy once you get through configuration.

Cost and Contracts 

Per month pricing on ERPLY is a bit higher than other POS services, however it’s not based on a per employee access, rather per location emphasizing that it’s made for multi-site operations.

The lowest tier is $200/mo per location, which includes an hour of training, EMV payments, and access to their online ticketing system and knowledge base.

The mid-tier is $350/mo per location and includes the standard features plus phone support, data conversions, priority online ticketing, and API integration with up to 1000 API calls per hour (for 3rd party software integration).

There is also an enterprise level for larger multi-site operations that do high volume. This comes with all the features of previous plans plus custom API calls and a dedicated customer success team.

While the feature offering is great from the POS system, it was disappointing to see that phone support isn’t offered at the most basic service plan, nor is API integration. This really forces businesses into the $350/mo per location plan which could be a sizable expense for smaller multi-site businesses.

ERPLY is a robust POS system offering the best of online and offline services with their hybrid-cloud POS system. The feature selection is perfect for growing multi-site operations however the limited customer support and limited features of the standard pricing plan is a bit off-putting. It would be nice to see a more expansive customer service offering from ERPLY to support the wealth of great features and services they have.
